Sustainable Cosmetics Summit Kicks Off in NY

Some of the leading organizations involved in natural and organic cosmetics and sustainability are congregating at the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit, today through May 14, at the Marriott New York Downtown in New York City. Major topics on the summit agenda include sustainable sourcing, natural & organic beauty certification schemes, creating positive environmental & social impacts, green formulations, biodynamic cosmetics, CEO roundtable, ethical retailing, marketing & distribution innovations, and overcoming technical hurdles.

Like previous events organized by Organic Monitor, the summit will bring together key stake-holders in the beauty industry that include cosmetic manufacturers, ingredient & raw material suppliers, retailers & distributors, industry organizations & certification agencies, researchers & academics, investors, and more.

Day One themes include a session titled “Postive Impacts on Cosmetic Products by Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Design, led by Williman McDonough, co-founder of MBDC, and Bridgett Luther, president, Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. The two will discuss how companies can generate a postive impact using the C2C design approach.

Also scheduled is an intercative CEO Roundtable, where CEOs of leading natural personal care firms will discuss key industry challenges. A networking and 10th Anniversary reception follows.
